The required documents for an application will be the following:

All the applicants:
- A copy of the relevant pages of the passport (mandatory);
- A Curriculum Vitae (mandatory);
- The candidate’s motivation for the chosen programme: sent in the application form (in the field "Statement") or as a separate uploaded document (mandatory) see note;
- Outline of thesis or teaching/training/research project (mandatory) see note;
- Academic records, relevant diplomas (see note), publications (mandatory);
- Language certificates (if required by Host University);
- 1 or more letters of support by Host University, see note (mandatory or recommended depending on the Host University);
- 1 or more letters of support by Home University, see note (recommended).

 

All TG1 applicants:
- Documents proving the belonging to TG1
(mandatory).

TG1 Doctorate Sandwich applicants:

- Proof of enrolment in a Doctoral course of one of the Partner Universities (mandatory);

All TG2 applicants:
- At least 2 Letters of support of
the Home Unviersity or any other unviersity/institution different from the Host University, see note;(mandatory).

TG2 Doctorate Sandwich applicants:

- Proof of enrolment in a Doctoral course of a University not member of the Partnership (mandatory);
- At least 1 letter of support by Home University, see note (mandatory).

Notes:

Candidate’s motivation for the chosen programme : there's no model for this document. Please check the page of the European Host University of this website in order to know if the English version of this document is mandatory or recommended. The english version migh be required in case of appeal of the candidate.

Outline of thesis or teaching/training/research project : there's no model for this document, it can be drafted in "word-doc" format and has to present the teaching/training/research activities that the candidate would like to carry out at the Host Unviersity. Please check the page of the European Host University of this website in order to know ifif the English version of this document is mandatory or recommended. The english version migh be required in case of appeal of the candidate.

Diplomas: you can apply even if you haven't yet obtained the diploma giving access to the level of studies you're applying for, but you have to state clearly the foreseen date of graduation. The deadline for sending the diploma giving access to the level of studies you're applying for (Bachelor or Master diploma for Doctoral studies, Doctorate diploma for post-doctoral studies) is 1st April 2012. Please check the page of the European Host University of this website if the English version of this document is mandatory or recommended.

Letter of support by Host University: there's no model for this document, it should not ne adressed to any specific person, it has to be headed paper of the University and to be signed by a professor of the Department/Faculty interested in the mobility programme you apply for or by an administrative officer for administrative staff mobility.

Letter of support by Home University: there's no model for this document, it might be addressed to the Host University you're applying for, it has to be headed paper of the University and to be signed by a professor of the Department/Faculty interested in the mobility programme you apply for or by an administrative officer for administrative staff mobility. This document is very important for the Sandwich doctorate mobilities, as the aim of the project is also creating academic and institutional bonds between the Home and Host universities. For this reason, it is recommended that the candidates present both a letter of the thesis supervisor, or of the Director of the Doctoral course (in order to certify the academic support) and a letter of the director of the Faculty/Department or of the International Relations Office, in order to certify the institutional support. It is nos mandatory presenting both letters, if the candidate only manage to obtain one, please consider that the most important is the one of the thesis supervisor, or of the Director of the Doctoral course.

Letter of support for TG2 candidates: there's no model for this document, it might be addressed to the Host University you're applying for,it has to be headed paper of the issuing institution (University, workplace, Research center, etc.).

How to obtain a letter of support from a European University:

- Either look in the Academic Offer for the contact person of the Programme you're interested in, or write directly to the ARTESS Contact person at the European Host University;

- Send by e-mail all the necessary information in order to evaluate the interest of your proposal: CV, list of publications, study/research project, etc.;

- This process might take a long time: be patient and wait, there's no difference in applying for the scholarship in the first or in the last day of the call;

- Please consider the possibility that the professor might not be interested in your proposal or that your CV is not adequate.
